Outdoor Classroom
Mason School now enjoys a designated outdoor learning space, a project that was built in the spring of 2011. Nearly 40 KUMC volunteers got busy with multiple outdoor projects, the biggest of which was an Outdoor Classroom at the back of the school. By mid-May the classroom was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception.
Phase II is being planned. Maybe a weather station and art project on the art wall? Let us know if you'd like to be a part of this year's projects!
Landscaping and Gardens
Among the other projects accomplished was painting benches and fences at the back of the school, general bed cleanup and mulching, as well as the building of several raised garden beds in which students planted a wide selection if spring plants.
